What to Expect on Your First Visit to Peace

If you’d like to know what you can expect during your first visit to Peace, check out these tips:

Where do I park? We have ample parking in front of the church in paved lots and grass fields.  Handicapped parking is available near the portico and on the south side of the building.

Who attends this church? People of all ages and ethnicities are part of what makes Peace unique. We are an amazing mix of religious and cultural backgrounds—all find a home here.  We welcome people in every stage of life as they explore, connect and grow.

How should I dress?  Dressing up is NOT required. We’re very casual at Peace. Our rule is: be comfortable but respectful.  If you enjoy dressing up for church, we might suggest our traditional service at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday mornings.

Where do I enter?  The first thing you’ll enter is our open-air portico “front porch” area. You will see people standing and talking between services. Feel free to ask our Hospitality Team directions and help yourself to coffee and snacks!

Where do my kids go during worship? We have a children’s message near the beginning of the service and then they are free to stay with their parents or go to our children’s “KidsOwn” worship. Children are asked to return at the end of the worship service to take part in communion with their families. Nursery care is also available for children ages 6 weeks – 3 years in Classroom A.

What is the worship space like? As you enter our worship space, you will be greeted by members of our Hospitality Team who will welcome you and hand you a copy of our Peace Connection (weekly church newsletter). You’ll notice that our worship space does not have pews! We have comfortable chairs, so sit wherever you like. The hospitality team will also be glad to help you find a seat.

What is the worship experience like? Each one of our Sunday morning worship services has its own style and personality—from contemporary to traditional. You may wish to try them all to determine the best fit for you.

Will I have to introduce myself? No! Please feel free to visit, relax, enjoy, mingle and get a feel of what this community is like.

Do I have to give money? At Peace we believe that giving to support God’s ministries is a joy! We pass an offering plate during all of our services. You will receive an offering envelope and a “Let’s Connect” card in our newsletter. You are not obligated to put money in the offering plate (though we appreciate it when you do!).  Fill out the connect card if you have prayer requests, questions, or would like more information about our programs.

Can I take communion?  Absolutely—we celebrate communion every Sunday.  The communion table at Peace is an open table (as it is at all United Methodist churches). You do not need to be a member or a United Methodist to take communion.
