Congratulations Pastor Jim!
Bishop Ken Carter and the appointive cabinet of the Florida Conference of The United Methodist Church, in consultation with the clergy and authorized lay leaders of the local churches, have announced full-time appointment changes, to take effect July 1, 2019. Every appointment is made in an environment of deep prayer, listening to God, paying attention to the gifts of clergy and the desires of the local church, but, again focusing first on the needs of the mission field—that is, the community that surrounds the local church.
Our Peace Church SPRC (Staff Parish Relations Committee) is thrilled to announce Rev. Jim Berlau has been appointed as our official Pastor. Peace is truly blessed by this appointment. Pastor Jim was hired as our Associate Pastor two years ago. As some of you may also recall, he previously served at Peace as our Youth Pastor and Assistant to the Pastor before leading First United Methodist Church of Winter Park’s South Street Ministry for six and a half years. He has a heart for engaging our community, creative worship and discipleship development.
Praise God with us for providing the gift of our new Pastor. SPRC asks that you pray for Pastor Jim, his children and the ministry and mission of Peace. Join him in prayer as we continue to demonstrate great love, faith and commitment as the body of Christ in this community. Congratulations Pastor Jim—may God bring you Peace and much success!
