GATHER: Worship Service Styles

At Peace Church we believe that people connect with God through a variety of worship styles.  That’s why we offer several different experiences, so that you can offer your gift of worship in a way that best matches who you are. At all of our services, we sing joyfully (although in different musical styles), share the Word of God, pray together, hear personal stories of how God is working in people’s lives, are encouraged by challenging messages from our worship leaders, and are inspired by the creative use of visual and dramatic arts.

Sunday 8:15 a.m. Early ServiceA simple, low-tech service with traditional hymns sung to the accompaniment of acoustic guitar.  It’s an intimate service in which, for instance, prayer time means individuals can share their joys and concerns directly with one another.

Sunday 9:30 a.m. Praise ServiceA high-energy service that is led with music by our Praise Team and Praise Band.  It features a lot of video, drama, and experiential elements that bring the scripture lesson to life. You’ll recognize songs you’re familiar with from Christian radio.  There’s a Children’s Story where kids come up front for a special lesson time before departing to their own KidsOwn Worship (or hanging out in the service with their parents).

Sunday 11:00 a.m. Traditional Service: This service features traditional hymns led by our Chancel Choir. There’s more of an emphasis on familiar liturgy and the traditional visual pageantry (robes and acolytes and such).  Additional special music (from classical to gospel) is provided by soloists and ensembles.  And, of course, the Children’s Story and all of our experiential dramatic and creative elements to enhance the day’s scripture lesson are part of this service as well.
